Antico Casale, meaning Old Cottage, has been completely restored with the utmost respect for its original features: brickwork or stonework flooring, ceilings with exposed beams, original frescoes and fireplaces.
The hotel is divided into 14 apartments, a large swimming pool with sun-terrace and a barbecue, a fully-equipped wellness centre and gym.
Perugia is a 35-minute drive away.

Hotel information
The hotel’s wellness centre consists of: indoor heated swimming-pool, 6-person Jacuzzi, counter-current swimming, sauna, Turkish bath and a relaxation room with chromotherapy and aromatherapy facilities. The centre also includes a gym, where you can enjoy relaxing massages, shiatsu, sun showers and aesthetical treatments delivered by the qualified staff.
The large and splendid hall, with its 17th century terracotta floor and wooden-beam ceiling, is ideal for meeting, conferences and parties. The hall has a capacity for 80 guests and is equipped with a wide-screen TV with PC connections, internet connections and microphone. The hall’s terrace boasts lovely views of Lake Trasimeno, and is immersed in parkland with old olives trees.

The cottage is divided into 14 apartments, each made up of a double room and a double bed . All the apartments have a communicating door and can be combined to make either 4-bed or 8-bed apartments. Furnishings are elegant and refined, with embroidered fabrics, wrought iron tester-beds and Persian carpets. Some apartments have a small, private garden or a terrace.
Food & beverage
A rich buffet breakfast is served daily from 07:30-10:30 and is included in the room rate.
Lunch is available from 13:00 and dinner is served from 20:00. Meals cost approximately EUR 30, not including drinks.
Area information
Umbria is strategically positioned among cities of considerable artistic importance. Within a range of less than 100 km you can find a range of beautiful cities, rich in art and in history, boasting Etruscan and Roman remains, fine architectural examples of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and masterpieces of painting and sculpture. These include Cortona (8 km), Perugia (30 km), Arezzo (35 km), Assisi (50 km), Orvieto (70 km) and Siena (60 km).
The scenery around the hotel is enchanting: olive-groves all around the lake, stone olive-presses for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP, magnificent vineyards that produce the most renowned wines, small towns and castles perched on the hills. The three isles in the lake (Maggiore, Minore and Polvese), each with its special charm, are the ideal destination for unforgettable excursions, as they are rich in natural parks and bird reserves.
The area is also a paradise for gourmands. The area’s specialities include Trasimeno French beans, lake fish cooked on a reed, fresh home-made pasta, Norcia truffles, capocollo (smoked ham), and the wines from Trasimeno and the Arezzo hills. Moreover, Lake Trasimeno borders on the Chiana valley, well known for its Chianina cattle farms.
Travel information
The hotel is 100 metres from the border between Umbria and Tuscany, on Lake Trasimeno, along the SS 75-bis national road leading to Cortona and Arezzo.
By Car:
From the Bettolle – Valdichiana exit of the motorway:
- Turn right towards Perugia; and leave the motorway at Tuoro sul Trasimeno.
- After 400 meters, at the crossroads, turn left towards Arezzo along the SS 75-bis road.
- Continue on this road along Lake Trasimeno, and after 46 km, you will see the Ristoro Punta Bella on the left.
- After another 2,200 meters, you will see a wrought iron gate and an avenue of cypresses on the right. This is the Antico Casale of Monte Gualandro.
