Hotel information

One of the best hotels in Umbria Region. The Park Hotel ai Cappuccini is a skillfully restored XVIIth century monastery. This splendid building and the religious communities who once inhabited it are part of the history of Gubbio.
Gubbio lies in the very heart of Umbria. It is an immaculate jewel set in the greenery of nature, and its stone and architecture are among the most noble examples of enlightened cultural refinement from the Middle Ages.
In a secluded location, yet only a stone's throw from the historic town centre, today the Park Hotel ai Cappuccini is a harmonious integration of ancient spaces combined with modern comforts. Leisure, fitness, art, culture, business meetings and good cuisine: all in a perfect setting. In addition to the facilities listed, the hotel is equipped with American bar, wine-shop, large indoor pool with sun terrace, gym-room open 24 hours, beauty treatments, mini soccer, and garage.

Food & beverage

The name of the Restaurant Ai Cappuccini refers to Capuchin friars. The ambience is elegant, with ample tables, Frau arm chairs, antique furniture and paintings. The tables are set up with silver and Rosenthal porcelain. The restaurant was opened in 1990 together with the hotel and seats 60 people, it offers some adjacent smaller rooms for private dining.
During the summer time we often dine in the open air. Since the Park Hotel ai Cappuccini has a very diversified clientele, the menu offers a wide range of traditional Umbrian dishes, revisited with an international touch.
The restaurant offers a Mediterranean seasonal menu. In addition, it offers the specialty of the day. Clients can order at all time grilled meat, fish or vegetables, since the fireplace in the kitchen is always on. Different kinds of homemade pasta are offered. The majority of meat comes from a farm in Val di Chiana, which belongs to the same owners. The tagliata di manzo (beefsteak lightly cooked in the oven and then sliced) is one of the house specialties. The extra-virgin olive oil used to kook is produced locally and the cheese comes from a well known cheese factory in Scheggia.
At the restaurant you can also taste dishes made with the well known truffles from Gubbio.
The wine list includes over 300 choices from Umbria, the rest of Italy and from other countries.
We have a dessert list with 10 different choices.
