Originally a stone farmhouse, whose construction is said to date back to 1100, the building has, over time, undergone various extensions, and now owes its name to the presence, inside the premises, of the first lignite mine exploited in the north of Umbria early in the 19th century.
"La Miniera di Galparino" is a Bed and Breakfast, has bedrooms fully furnished with rustic furniture, with materials taken from the old peasant tradition, using, for instance, old sackcloth for curtains. The rooms, large and comfortable, are supplied with linen and have en-suite facilities, television and refrigerator.
Breakfast and dinner, prepared with in-house organic produce, are served in the indoor restaurant situated in fully restored large rooms, where the traditional local food and be tasted and relished with the excellent Umbrian and national wines.
In order to enjoy the peace, tranquillity and the green of these hills, our guests have at their disposal a large park that surrounds the premises, a swimming-pool with a beautiful view of the Nestore Valley and Camoscio Basilica Minore, as well as the opportunity of enjoying archery, mountain biking, bowls and fishing.

'La Minera di Galparino' is strategically situated about 15 km from Citta' di Castello, famous for its white truffle, and Montone, a typical medieval village.
It is also less than 45 km from places and towns of historical and artistic interest such as Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, Cortona and Lake Trasimeno.
Furthermore, if you travel about 65km, you will find places such as Spello, Trevi, Spoleto, and Arezzo, all set like jewels in the beautiful Umbrian landscape, which reminds you of the paintings of an artist.
Our premises are only 30 minutes from Perugia 'S. Egidio' Airport, 2 hours from Rome 'Fiumicino' Airport, and approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from Florence Airport.
If you are travelling by car, the journey is also straightforward.
Coming from the north:
from Bologna, take the A14 motorway direction Ancona and exit Cesena;
then the E45 direction Perugia and exit Citta' di Castello (S. Lucia).
Coming from the south: from Rome, take the A1 motorway direction Florence and exit Orte;
then take the E45 direction Cesena and exit Promano.
